Congratulations, you made it to the less serious section of my webpage!
Here are some of the things I enjoy doing.
I love traveling, especially to off the beaten path places and especially if it requires a bit of a hike and takes something out of you. The feeling, if only for a short while, that it's just me and my backpack, is liberating. There is something rewarding in the simple logic of left foot in front of right foot in front of left foot.
I also enjoy reading a lot. My favorite topics are history, politics and economics or any Pulitzer winner in non-fiction. In fiction, I like fantasy and science fiction, as long as whatever I'm reading managed not to fall into genre clichés.
I am (although to a constantly decreasing degree) an avid gamer. I particularly like role playing games and strategy games. Crusader Kings is probably my favorite game, all time.
I have also played soccer competitively for many years and continue to play recreationally. In fact, my teenage years seem to have been more of a sequence of long practice sessions on the soccer field than anything else. I also enjoy other sports, in particular volleyball and badminton. For the past few months, I have also started to run and bike frequently. Lastly, I am interested in watching sports and in the economics of sports and sports management.
